Craft Fair at the Oak Valley Plantation
Over at the Oak Valley Plantations, our hardworking event organizers are doing their job organizing the 19th festival for next year; and we’re fresh off the 18th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival just a couple of months ago. In fact, they already have a date for it; it will be held on the weekend, specifically from March 20 to 21, 2010. And as our usual schedule, we will start at 9am and go on ?til dusk.
Admission hasn’t changed at all since the last event two months ago. Kids aged 13 and above are charged five dollars, and children younger than that can get inside for only two dollars. Any kids younger than three are free of charge, but parents are advised to keep a careful watch on them, as we expect a large turnout. Of course, all proceeds will be used for the preservation and maintenance of the Oak Valley Plantation, which is a National Historic Landmark.
There will be about 170 booths, and each of them have passed through a jury of very high standards that come from all over the states. Some have hailed from as far out as Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and Tennessee; while others will be closer as Mississippi, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, and of course, our very own Louisiana. Each of these participants will bring with them items they have crafted themselves, and pit their skills and talents against other talented artisans.
You will have a chance to purchase for yourself unique items like the mixed media 3-D art, Louisiana Mud Paintings, pen and ink drawings, watercolor masterworks, copper fountains, sculptures and handmade pipes, or just view them if you wish. Of course, there will be handmade creations available, and you can have fun shopping around for jewelry, clothing, home accessories, furniture, and children’s toys. And you can expect that all of them will be of the highest quality, which you can expect out of a craft show.
The festival will surely not disappoint you and will live up to your expectations, as it has a lot of fun-filled activities for everyone. Watch your kids have fun with the pony rides, the petting zoo, a face painting area, and sand art. There’s never a dull moment at the Oak Valley Plantation Arts and Crafts Festival!
