Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR is equipped with 10.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor and DIGIC II Image processor. It has large 2.5-inch LCD monitor with approximately 230,000 pixels, and new user interface and wide viewing angle. The startup time only takes 0.2 second and it can shoot up to 3 frames per second, 27 frames in burst. It has the high-precision 9-point AF system and features Picture Style settings for a broad range of control over color, contrast and sharpening.

With a strong and lightweight body, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera was designed with better ergonomics and an improved grip. To reduce dust in the camera, the Integrated Cleaning System, that includes both hardware and software solutions, was included. Among the digital EOS SLR cameras, this camera is the first to have such important technology. The system was installed to ensure the sensor is free of dust and debris so that it can deliver cleaner images.

The Integrated Cleaning System includes a Self Cleaning Sensor Unit that combats against stray dust that enters the camera and sticks to the image sensor. The Self Cleaning Sensor uses ultrasonic vibrations to automatically remove dust from the sensor assembly. Dust spots on images can still be erased with the Dust Delete Data Detection. It is a software that is included in the Digital Photo Professional (DPP) Version 2.2.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera can be used with over 60 EF and EF-S Lenses, which helps the camera deliver exceptional photographic performance. The compatible lenses range from ultra-wide angle to super telephoto lenses, including Canon’s EF-S series lenses. Aspherical optics and fluorite elements are examples of the advanced features that the L Series lenses offer. Canon’s Image Stabilizer technology, which minimizes the effect of camera shake, is also featured in select lenses.

This camera can provide reliable flash output through several exposures because it features E-TTL II flash metering system. It also offers high output flash through Canon’s Speedlite 430EX that includes a maximum guide number of 141 ft./43m at ISO 100. Another great feature is the AF-assist Beam, which provides more accurate white balance. It sends color temperature information automatically to the camera when the flash fires.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera are also compatible with other accessories aside from the EF lenses and Speedlite flashes. There is the Battery Grip BG-E3 adds a vertical shutter release, and can hold two NB-2LH Battery Packs for increased shooting capacity. There is also the Semi Hard Case EH18-L, which can accommodate the EOS Digital Rebel XTi with a small zoom lens.

Canon EOS Digital Solution Disk (Version 13.0), which is included in the package, contains powerful system programs. These powerful system programs were added to perfect captured images and streamline the digital workflow. One is the Digital Photo Professional (Version 2.2), which is an image processing program for easy image layout and printing. With this program, processing of RAWS images is faster RAW image processing and previewing.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera allows remote controlled shooting from a computer as well as file transfer and linking. This application, the EOS Utility (Version 1.1), handles the connection between the camera and computer. The ZoomBrowser EX (Version 5.7) or ImageBrowser (Version 5.7) enables viewing and editing of JPEG and even RAW image files. It also offers several printing options without having to use a separate image-editing program.
