Located more than 1,000 meters above sea level, Grendelwald is set against the backdrop of the Wetterhorn, Eiger and Jungfrau. Fly into either of Switzerland’s international airports in Zurich, Geneva, Basel or Berne. Easyjet and Swiss International Air Lines fly from most UK airports into these airports.

Swiss Rail is available from any Swiss airport, so there’s no need to find a connecting flight. Swiss Rail is fast, efficient and on-time and will take you right to the resort center. In Grindelwald, you’ll find the Swiss Fly-Luggage system in which you can check your luggage in at your departure airport, and it will go straight through to Grindelwald. It works the same on your return.

One of the first tourist resorts to catch the eye of tourists since the 17th century goes by the name Grindelwald. It is a tourist haven for international clients as sportsperson and vacationers from around the world choose Grindelwald as their 1st choice of stay.It is also a local’s favorite as the one fifth of Grindelwald’s clientele are swiss.

With the Bargelegg Snowpark, Grindel-Superpipe, Oberjoch-Run, and Boadercross, Grindelwald-First has places and services catering to both experienced ski and snowboard fans, and those who are new and aspiring ski and snowboarders.

You’ll find optimal ski conditions well into the spring at Murren-Schilthorn thanks to its altitude of 1,650-3,000 meters. That makes it the highest winter sport resort in the Bernese Oberland.

For beginners, the slope on Bodmi is an ideal place for beginner skiers of all ages.

For variety, you can also enjoy winter hiking, tobogganing or snow tubing. Ice skate on the natural rink on Barplatz or snowshoe through the breathtaking mountain panorama. For cross-country skiers, Grindelwald offers tracks at all difficulty levels.

Visit the Grindelwald Museum to get a taste of local culture. Its exhibits trace the growth of this once pastoral area into the great mecca for travelers that it is today.

St. Petronnell Pilgrims Way originates from 1999. These scenic paths were called “Pilgrim’s Ways to the legendary location of the St. Petronnell Chapel”. There are a few notable landmarks along the path.

Grindelwald does not forget that it is host to children and families. Snowli Children’s Club is a ski school on Bodmi. Children can learn from master chef Cocolino about nature and its uses in the kitchen.
