How Grandma Found a Job

One of the strangest things that I learned over the weekend was that my grandmother was now gainfully employed.  Considering the fact she hasn’t worked for the past 30 years I was a little surprised, but nonetheless I was interested to know how she found her job.

After getting together for coffee with her, asked her how she was able to find retail jobs at her age.  She explained to me that since there was a worker shortage, many employers that she talked to had decided not to hire based on age, but instead hire based on the ability of the candidate.

What surprised me even more is that she told me she even considered trying to find government jobs in Australia that would hire her, but instead decided on a job that would pay a little less but be more fun.  She also showed me the website she found while looking for a job in Australia, and I will be using it in the future when I need to find a job as well.

I still can’t get over the fact that my grandma has a job…
