Memories of a Dead Rocker
I was quite young yet, but I remember the day that Kurt Kobain died. I had an older sister and by the way she was mourning, you would have thought it had been her grandmother or her best friend. I did not realize, at the time, how much he actually meant to the world.
As I grew older, I started listening to my sister’s music and somehow got stuck on Nirvana. It was several years after his death, but I, too, had to go through a period of mourning. I joined a Nirvana forum where I could meet other young people that liked the music of a dead legend.
One of my good friends that I met on there, sent me a link to a grunge rock forum which she said would be right up my alley. I checked it out and she was right. It sounds funny, but I think that my love of Nirvana has actually brought my sister and I a lot closer together.
