Too Many Transactions?
I received an interesting phone call from the bank yesterday. It seems that our merchant account had too many transactions over the weekend and that they were going to shut it down.
Now, I asked why there was an upper limit on the number of transactions, but the person on the other end of the line had no real answer for me.
Not only was I angry, but I needed to find a new payment processor quick. A day without being able to accept credit cards would be a day of lost sales - something that I couldn’t live with for long.
So, I went online to find a new merchant account that could have unlimited transactions. I was able to find some offshore merchant accounts that did just that, and they would be able to have out debit machines by the end of the week, which was a time frame that I could live with.
It is a good thing that they don’t have a limit on the number of transactions - we have another big sale coming up this weekend.
