Memories of Summer Camp
Some of the fondest memories I have of childhood were those that happened at summer camp. I made some really great friends and I loved being outdoors and playing games, running obstacle courses and going swimming. For this reason, I decided that I was absolutely going to be sending my own kids to summer camp.
My son was very reluctant when it came time to register him for his first camp. He had images of it being like boot camp, even though I tried to explain that it was a really fun way to spend part of his summer. He cried on the drive to camp and I actually considered just turning around and going home.
It is a good thing I didn’t though, because as soon as we drove up and he saw the playground, with the bouncy houses, he was definitely not leaving. When I came to pick him up at the end of the week, he did to want to go home. He wanted me to ask if they had bouncy castles for sale with their T-shirts and hats. I just had to laugh at him and I knew that he could not wait to come back next year.
