Learning About a Fascinating Group of People
While I was in college, I was doing research for a paper that I was working on and I needed to find out an estimate of the number of Pakistanis in Calgary. I was extremely surprised at my answer as I did not realize the vast number of them that were living there. I was also very happy that they were able to live there happily and safely.
I remember when I went to get my Alberta’s learners permit and the man that administered the test was a Pakistani. He was really nice and I got very curious about the culture. I decided that I wanted to study more about this in university as the culture fascinated me more than anything ever had in my whole life.
I even started eating at Pakistani restaurants. I both enjoyed the food and the people and made many friends in the Pakistani community. I always felt welcome and they made me fit in really well. I would have to say that my best friends are a part of this group and I am a better person for knowing them.
