Life with A Busy Toddler
Sometimes being a mother can be especially frustrating. Especially when you are the mother of a two year old. Especially, especially when it is a two year old little girl like the one I have. I think that God must have a sense of humor because when I prayed for patience, this little girl is what he gave me. And patience is definitely something she has taught me.
I made the big mistake yesterday of assuming that because everything was quiet, she had finally laid down and gone to sleep. Big mistake on my part. Never assume that your two year old is sleeping if everything finally goes quiet. In fact, assume the worst and make sure you check to see that their breathing is regular before deciding that they are, in fact asleep. I would have never guessed a two year old could fake it before.
That was before I walked into the disaster zone that had previously been my bedroom. There was makeup absolutely everywhere. All over her, all over the walls and all over the clean clothes. The worst was that there were about three bottles of perfume sprayed into the carpets. Yes, they will be coming up very soon, as you cannot stand to even be near the room right now.
So, although I would never trade her for anything and I love her to death, she is very trying and I am spending so much of my life just trying to make it through the day with her.
