Now, not all magazines are created equal.  You have probably read ones that are concise and to the point with very little print advertising.  On the other hand, there are ones out there with little or no content and are just full of advertisements.

What I like to see in a quality regional magazine is articles related to the area.  Not only should I be reading the latest news in the region, but there should also be some good articles highlighting local tourist attractions to give new visitors and idea of where to go in town.

I also like to see local maps to help tourists and citizens out.  I don’t mind seeing some businesses that sponsor the map being highlighted, but I hate to see the map covered in advertisements.

That being said, one person’s perfect regional magazine is not another.  Chances are though that there is a publication in your community that suits your needs and your expectations.
