My New Friends
I was given an Immigration interview sample to go over for my law class. I was studying to be a lawyer, working in immigration, and I was learning so much that I was sure that I could never remember everything. For part of my practicum, I was going to be working with a large family that was coming here from India.
I helped them to prepare, using a citizenship practice test. The language barrier was strong and I was a little bit nervous about that, but they were smart and they had real heart and a desire to be a part of the Canadian culture.
I also helped a couple of them prepare for the G1 practice test. This was the most nerve wracking part of the whole process, but I think that being able to drive was going to be important in their success here. I needn’t have worried as they all did just fine and I am proud to have them as my new friends.
