Shopping for Change
Usually people go out shopping for stuff they need such as food and clothing. Or you will find people out shopping for toys such as that new television or computer that they just "needed". Well, I was out for a different reason today - I was shopping for change.
Changing the image that my home displays was hard. As opposed to renovating the inside, I thought a little contemporary furniture would change how myself and others would perceive the place. Instead of a flashback to the seventies, I wanted people to think that my modern furniture was from this year - or at least from this century.
When we were out at the store, my wife and I had difficulties on agreeing on what to buy. There were some good discussions while we were trying to pick something out, but we finally made a decision. Perhaps our easiest decision was on the contemporary bedroom furniture we bought. We both immediately liked the first set we saw - and bought it.
It took us awhile to find the right living room and dining room sets, but we did manage to pick those out as well. We should be getting them delivered tomorrow, and I can’t wait to see the final product - it will be nice to have furniture from the 21st century.
