Medicare: Helping Those in Need
I don’t know where this country would be without Medicare. If people had to fend for themselves, the rich would be healthy, and everyone else would not. You would just have to hope that you didn’t get sick or heaven forbid get a disease - because if you did, your life would be over.
Take for example a relatively common disease such as Diabetes. Now, if you have seen the statistics, you would know that most diabetics spend over $10,000 per year just to keep their disease under control. For you low income earners, that much money could mean the difference between you eating and controlling your disease.
Thankfully, Medicare Health Insurance can help with the purchase of all the diabetic supplies and medication you need, but usually it is not enough. Quite often, most diabetics will have some form of Medicare supplement to pay the difference that regular Medicare doesn’t cover.
Once in awhile, a diabetic may be able to get some free diabetes supplies, but that would be hard to count on as a regular occurrence. Thankfully, there is Medicare to help those in need - even though you might not need it now, you will be happy it is there when you do need it.
