Christmas and Real Estate Investing
At this time of year, many people are out traveling to visit their friends and family. For some of us, it is a short trip, for others it can be a little longer.
This year, we had the opportunity to go visit my sister-in-law out in South Carolina. We have never been there until this year, and we thought it was a great chance to go check things out. We were going to spend a couple of weeks there over Christmas to visit and let my children play with their cousins.
In an effort to make things a little more affordable, I suggested to my wife that we could check out some of the homes in Greenville, SC. Since we do a bit of real estate investing, this was a perfect chance to find some potential investment properties there (as their economy is booming) and write off some of our expenses.
We did some research before we left, and made a point to make contact with a realtor or two before we left. We very much enjoyed our trip and we are patiently waiting to see if we get any of the properties that we put offers on.
